Adult First Aid

This one-day First Aid Awards course equips learners to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when/how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help.

Course numbers are limited to ensure that you can be safe and supported whilst you learn. The minimum age to complete the course is 14.

Learning takes place in two manageable sessions through a mixture of group activities, presentations and discussions. Each session is built around a ‘CARE’ action plan, accompanied by course workbook.

Course Outcomes:

  • Know what Mental Health is
  • Why people develop Mental Health conditions
  • Role of the Mental Health First Aider
  • Providing advice and practical support for a person presenting a Mental Health condition
  • Recognising and managing stress
  • Identifying signs and symptoms of:
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Psychosis
  • Eating Disorders
  • Suicide
  • Self Harm
  • Understand impact of alcohol and drug abuse on Mental Health
  • 'CARE' Mental Health action plan
  • Implementing positive Mental Health cultures in the workplace

Online Learning

  • £150 per person
  • £1000 per group (12 maximum)

Delegates will receive course materials prior to the course in addition to video guidance on how to be an effective participant on the online platform.

The course will be fully completed by the end of the day and regulated qualification framework certificates forwarded by mail upon successfully completion of the course assessment.
