Awareness of Mental Health and Wellbeing

This half-day First Aid Awards course introduces learners to the concept of mental health, wellbeing and associated illnesses.

It refers to supportive conversations and when/how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help.

Course numbers are limited to ensure that learner stay safe and supported whilst they learn. The minimum age to complete the course is 14.

Learning takes place in one session that is accompanied by course workbook.

Course Outcomes:

  • Know what Mental Health is
  • Why people develop Mental Health conditions
  • Role of the Mental Health First Aider
  • Providing advice and contacting emergency services for a person presenting a Mental Health condition
  • Recognising and managing stress
  • Awareness of:
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Psychosis
  • Eating Disorders
  • Suicide
  • Self Harm

Online Learning

  • £100 per person
  • £600 per group (12 maximum)

Delegates will receive course materials prior to the course in addition to video guidance on how to be an effective participant on the online platform.

The course will be fully completed by the end of the three hours and regulated qualification framework certificates forwarded by mail upon successfully completion of the course assessment.
