The Government has confirmed that it is seeking views as to whether First Aid Training should become part of the national curriculum. In a parliamentary answer, Education Minister, Nick Gibb said: “The Department is currently speaking with a broad range of expert organisations about the potential curriculum content for the new compulsory subjects in primary and secondary schools. Discussions with West Midlands Ambulance Service, the British Heart Foundation, the British Red Cross and St John’s Ambulance have considered whether first aid should be included. The evidence will support the Government’s decisions on compulsory subject content.
