L1 Safeguarding

This AIM Awards qualification provides learners with the knowledge of safeguarding in both work situations and in daily life.

 

Learners will:

  • gain an understanding of what is meant by safeguarding and the associated risks and duty of care
  • develop knowledge of the different sources of help and support accessed by information, advice or guidance
  • gain an understanding of the important nature of disclosure and the procedures and protocols for dealing with

These qualification is aimed at anyone who requires an understanding of risk, safeguarding and duty of care in their work environment/daily lives or to increase their chances of employment in certain sectors.

 

Eligibility

It is appropriate for learners aged 16+ who:

  • are newly appointed within an organisation that works with children and/or vulnerable adults
  • have a basic level of experience/expertise of working with children and/or vulnerable adults
  • are in regular contact with children/vulnerable adults/families
  • are embarking on their first 'child protection' professional development course

 

Qualification Details

  • 9 Guided Learning Hours
  • 1 credit from completion of 1 unit
  • Internal assessment will take place at the centre
